Course Description

CI 104 encompasses the entire life cycle of an investment, from refinancing to capital improvements to disposition. Within each case study, you will encounter a key investor decision: Should a non-taxable investor acquire an investment with or without debt financing? What if the investor is taxable? During the holding period of an investment, should an investor make a discretionary capital expenditure or not? How does an investor evaluate disposition alternatives?

CI 104 uses advanced analyses to build on the core CCIM concepts. Sensitivity analysis allows you to pinpoint exactly how slight changes in market fundamentals affect investment goals. Risk analysis uses past performance to anticipate how an investment is exposed to external and internal threats. Learn how to mitigate those threats through smart planning and negotiations.

Robin Dyche

Robin Dyche, CCIM, is Managing Member at RIO Real Estate Investment Opportunities LLC in Albuquerque, N.M.. During his 45 years in commercial real estate, Dyche has negotiated many transactions with companies including TempurPedic Mattress, Sennheiser, Facebook, Cupertino Electric, Niagara Water, Fortis Construction, CarMax, and Merillat Cabinets.

Dyche has been a CCIM Institute instructor since 1980. Dyche was recognized as Instructor of the Year in 1999 and CI 104 Instructor of the Year in 1997 by Institute faculty. He was also awarded the Susan Groeneveld CCIM Visionary Award in 2008 and was honored with the Victor Lyon Award for Outstanding Contributions to the CCIM program.

Peter Barnett

Peter Barnett, CCIM, is currently the Real Estate Strategy leader for PwC. He is based in Tampa, Fla., and has been in the commercial real estate industry for 20 years. In his current role as Strategy leader for PwC, Peter is responsible for development and execution of the corporate real estate strategy for nearly 6 million square feet of Class A office space in the U.S., India, China and other territories.

Peter has been a CCIM Institute instructor since 2008 and was awarded CI 103 Instructor of the Year in 2012 by his Institute faculty peers. He was also recognized as a 2010 Rising Star by CCIM Institute and received the Susan J. Groeneveld Award of Excellence in 2012 from his peers in leadership development programs.

Barnett earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Capella University.
